Yorkshire adopted the Accelerated Reader (AR) program many years ago, and has seen incredible success as students become active readers. Students love to read classics, young children’s series, and wonderful nonfiction books, all of which can be found within the Accelerated Reader program.
As specified on its website, Accelerated Reader’s advanced technology helps:
- Make essential reading practice more effective for every student.
- Personalize reading practice to each student’s current level.
- Manage all reading activities including read to, read with, and read independently.
- Assess students’ reading with four types of quizzes: Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Literacy Skills, and Textbook Quizzes.
